Ο Άγιος Λεωνίδης Επίσκοπος Αθηνών

Στους    Συναξαριστές    αναφέρεται    ότι    ο    Άγιος    Λεωνίδης,  Επίσκοπος   Αθηνών,    κοιμήθηκε  με  ειρήνη    το    έτος    250    μ.Χ.    Σε  κάποιους    από    τους    Κώδικες  αναφέρεται    ως    Μάρτυς,    γεγονός  όμως    που    δεν    αποδεικνύεται.

Απολυτίκιον.   Ήχος   δ’.   Ταχύ   προκατάλαβε.    
Ποιμήν   ιερώτατος,   και    Ιεράρχης   σοφός,   της    πόλεως    γέγονας,  των  Αθηνών της κλεινής, Λεωνίδα μακάριε· όθεν ιερατεύσας, τω Σωτήρι  οσίως,  ήθλησας   υπέρ   φύσιν,   και  την  πλάνην   καθείλες.  Και    νυν  Πάτερ    ικέτευε,    υπέρ    των   τιμώντων   σε.

Κοντάκιον.   Ήχος   δ’.  Ο    υψωθείς   εν   τω   Σταυρώ.   
Ως Ιεράρχης ενθεώτατος Πάτερ, μαρτυρικώς τον σον  ετέλεσας   βίον, Ιερομάρτυς   Λεωνίδα   ένδοξε·   χαίρων   γαρ   υπήνεγκας,   της   σαρκός τας οδύνας·  όθεν μεταβέβηκας,  προς  ουράνιον  λήξιν,  υπέρ  ημών  πρεσβεύων  προς  Χριστόν,  των  εκτελούντων,  την πάνσεπτον   μνήμην σου.

Μεγαλυνάριον.
Χαίροις   της   Ελλάδος   θείος   βλαστός,   Ιερομαρτύρων   Λεωνίδα   η καλλονή·   χαίροις   Αθηναίων,   ο   θείος  Ποιμενάρχης,  και  προς  Χριστόν   μεσίτης,   Πάτερ   θερμότατος.
