Μνήμη της Γ’ Αγίας Οικουμενικής Συνόδου

Συγκροτήθηκε   στα   χρόνια   του    Θεοδοσίου    του    Μικρού    το    413 μ.Χ.   εναντίον   του   Κωνσταντινουπόλεως   Νεστορίου,   ο    οποίος   έλεγε   ότι   ο   Χριστός   δεν    είναι    σαρκωμένος   Θεός,   αλλά   τέλειο ανθρώπινο    δημιούργημα   του    Θεού.      
Η    Γ’    Οικουμενική     Σύνοδος  έγινε  στην  Έφεσο  και  την  αποτελούσαν    200   Πατέρες    της    Εκκλησίας.

Απολυτίκιον.   Ήχος   γ’.   Θείας   πίστεως.  
Θείω   Πνεύματι,  εν   τη    Εφέσω,   συνεκρότησαν,    Σύνοδον    Τρίτην,    οι  θεοφόροι   Πατέρες   και   άγιοι,   και   Νεστορίου    ελόντες   την   αίρεσιν, την    Θεοτόκον   σαφώς    ανεκήρυξαν·   ούς    υμνήσωμεν,   συμφώνοις ωδαίς   και   άσμασι,   δοξάζοντες    Χριστόν    τον   πολυέλεον.

Κοντάκιον.   Ήχος   δ’.   Ο    υψωθείς   εν   τω   Σταυρώ.  
Του   Παρακλήτου    επινεύσει  τη   θεία,   εν   τη    Εφέσω  συνελθόντες Πατέρες,  και την σεπτήν και Τρίτην θείαν Σύνοδον, πίστει συγκροτήσαντες, εν αυτή Νεστορίου, άπασαν την αίρεσιν, και το  έκφυλον   δόγμα,   καταβαλόντες   δόγμασι   σεπτοίς,    την    Εκκλησίαν  του    Χριστού    εστηρίξατε.

Χαίρετε   Πατέρες   πανευκλεείς,   οι   του   Νεστορίου,    καταισχύναντες την   φωνήν,   και   εν   τη   Συνόδω,   τη    Τρίτη    τον    Σωτήρα,    και    την  τεκούσαν    Τούτον,   λαμπρώς  κηρύξαντες.

Memory of the 3rd Holy Ecumenical Council
