Ο Άγιος Φωκάς ο Μάρτυρας

Ο  Άγιος    Φωκάς  έζησε και    μαρτύρησε κατά  τα χρόνια του  αυτοκράτορα   Τραϊανού.

Επειδή    ήταν   χριστιανός,   συνελήφθη    και   οδηγήθηκε   στον  Αφρικανό,  τον έπαρχο.  Εκεί  μετά    από    ερώτηση,   του    ομολόγησε  ότι   πιστεύει    στον    έναν   και    μόνον    αληθινό   Θεό.   Ύστερα   από  αυτήν   του   την   ομολογία,   ο   Αφρικανός    άρχισε    να    βρίζει    τον  Χριστό  και  προσπάθησε  να   χτυπήσει  τον    Άγιο.   Τότε    έγινε   ένας τρομερός    σεισμός,   ο    έπαρχος    έπεσε    κάτω    και   κείτονταν    νεκρός    μαζί  με τους   στρατιώτες   του.   Τότε   ο    Άγιος   μετά    από παράκληση    της   γυναίκας    του,   τον    ανάστησε.

Κατόπιν  όμως  οι  ειδωλολάτρες  τον  οδήγησαν  στον  αυτοκράτορα.  Αλλά    και    μπροστά    σ' αυτόν    ο    Άγιος    ομολόγησε   την   πίστη   του   στον   Θεό.   Αμέσως    ο    αυτοκράτορας    διέταξε    να    αρχίσουν  τα     βασανιστήρια.

Πρώτα  τον  κρέμασαν    από    ένα   ξύλο    και    του    έσκισαν     το    σώμα    με   σιδερένια     νύχια  και  μετά  τον    έριξαν   μέσα   σε  ένα    λάκκο   με  ασβέστη. Στο  τέλος   τον  έβαλαν  σε  ένα   λουτρό,  όπου    είχαν   ζεστάνει    το    νερό   πάρα   πολύ.           
Εκεί  μετά  από  θερμή  προσευχή,    ο    Άγιος   παρέδωσε   το    πνεύμα   του   στον   Κύριο.

Απολυτίκιο.   Ήχος   γ’.   Θείας   πίστεως.    
Φως   εκλάμπουσα,   των   ιαμάτων,   κόσμω   δέδεικται,  των   σων λειψάνων, Ιερομάρτυς η  θήκη  η  ένθεος· ής την σεπτήν   κομιδήν   εορτάζοντες,   αγιασμόν   αληθή  κομιζόμεθα.    Φωκά  ένδοξε,   Χριστόν τον    Θεόν    ικέτευε,  δωρήσασθαι    ημίν    το    μέγα   έλεος.

Ως   θησαυρόν   ανέκλειπτον,   της   δωρεάς   του   Πνεύματος,   των   ιερών  σου λειψάνων την λάρνακα, περικυκλούντες  ένδοξε, ψυχικών  νοσημάτων, και  παντοίων παθών ιάσεις λαμβάνομεν, Φωκά ανευφημούντες,   τα    θείά    σου   κατορθώματα.

Μεγαλυνάριον.
Βρύει    τοις    εν   κόσμω   ποταμηδόν,  εκ  πηγών αΰλων, σβτηρίους   επιρροάς,    η    σεπτή   σου   θήκη,  Φωκά  Ιερομάρτυς,  εξ ών   αεί  αντλούντες,   σε   μεγαλύνομεν.
