Ο Όσιος Δαμιανός εκ Γεωργίας

Ο  Όσιος  Δαμιανός,  κατά  κόσμον  Δημήτριος,  ήταν  βασιλέας  των  Γεωργιανών  (1125)  και  υιός  του  βασιλέα  Δαβίδ  Β’ του  Ισχυρού  ή Επανορθωτού   (1089 – 1124).   Έζησε    κατά   τον    11^ο   και    12^ο   αιώνα    μ.Χ. και,   αφού  εγκατέλειψε    την    κοσμική    εξουσία,  έγινε  μοναχός,  λαμβάνοντας    το    όνομα   Δαμιανός.     
Κοιμήθηκε    με   ειρήνη    το   1156.

Saint Damian of Georgia

Saint Damian, Dimitrios, was the King of the Georgians (1125) and the son of King David II of the Strong or Reconstructor (1089-1124). He lived in the 11th and 12th centuries AD. and, having abandoned secular power, he became a monk, taking the name Damianos.

He slept in peace in 1156.
