Μνήμη τρίτης ευρέσεως της τιμίας κεφαλής του προφήτου Προδρόμου και Βαπτιστού Ιωάννου

Αυτή  κανονικά  θα  έπρεπε  να  θεωρείται  ως   δεύτερη   εύρεση,    αφού πουθενά    δεν  αναφέρεται  άλλη,  παρά  μόνο  η  πρώτη (24 Φεβρουαρίου).  Η  εύρεση  αυτή  έγινε  από  κάποιον  άγνωστο  ιερέα  στα   Κόμανα   της  Καππαδοκίας, μέσα  σε  αργυρή  θήκη,   σε  ιερό  τόπο    και μεταφέρθηκε  με  μεγάλη  επισημότητα  και  πομπή  στην Κωνσταντινούπολη,    όπου   κατατέθηκε   στη    Μονή    του   Στουδίου.

Ως   θείον   θησαύρισμα  εγκεκρυμμένον   τη   γη,   Χριστός   απεκάλυψε, την Κεφαλήν  σου ημίν,  Προφήτα  και  Πρόδρομε· πάντες ούνσυνελθόντες,   εν   τη   ταύτης   ευρέσει,   άσμασι  θεηγόροις, τον Σωτήρα   υμνούμεν,   τον   σῲζοντα    ημάς    εκ  φθοράς,  ταις   ικεσίαις  σου.

Προφήτα  Θεού,  και  Πρόδρομε  της χάριτος,  την   Κάραν   την   σην,   ως ρόδον   ιερώτατον,   εκ της γης ευράμενοι, τας ιάσεις πάντοτε λαμβάνομεν, και  γαρ πάλιν  ως πρότερον,  εν κόσμω   κηρύττεις  την μετάνοιαν.

Ως    ουρανίων    δωρεών   πηγή   θεόβρυτος

Τη    Εκκλησία   εκ    βυθού    της    γης    ανέλαμψε

Τρίτην   της   παντίμου   σου  Κεφαλής,   μνείαν   εκτελούμεν,   ήν   εδόξασεν   η   Τριάς, Βαπτιστά  Κυρίου· εκ γης γαρ τρίτως   ώφθη, μετανοείτε   πάσιν,   ανακραυγάζουσα.

Memory of the Third Finding of the Forehead of Prophet Prodromos and Baptistos Ioannou

This should normally be regarded as a second finding, since nowhere other than the first one (24 February). This finding was made by an unknown priest in the Komana of Cappadocia, in a silver case, in a sacred place, and was transferred with great formality and procession to Constantinople, where it was deposited at the Monastery of Stoudios.
