Ο Άγιος Παράμονος ο Μάρτυρας και οι 370 συν αυτώ Μάρτυρες

Μαρτύρησε  μαζί  με  άλλους  370  χριστιανούς στα μέσα του 3^ου μ.Χ. αιώνα,  όταν  αυτοκράτορας ήταν ο Δέκιος, που είχε κάνει πολλούς φόνους   χριστιανών.

Τότε λοιπόν, κοντά στον ποταμό Τίγρη υπήρχαν  ιαματικά  λουτρά.  Στα λουτρά  αυτά είχε πάει και  ένας  φανατικός λάτρης των ειδώλων, ο άρχων   Ακυλίνος.  Όταν   έκανε  θυσίες στο ναό της Ίσιδος, έδωσε διαταγή  να  συμμετέχουν  σ’ αυτές ο Παράμονος και άλλοι 370 χριστιανοί, που είχαν συλληφθεί και τους κρατούσαν φυλακισμένους. Όλοι   όμως  αρνήθηκαν.  Και  ενώ  γίνονταν  οι  ειδωλολατρικές  θυσίες, οι πιστοί του Χριστού έψαλλαν «ψαλμοίς και ύμνοις και ωδαί πνευματικαί»,  στον  Σωτήρα  τους.     
Ο Ακυλίνος, εξαγριωμένος από την στάση τους, διέταξε να τους σκοτώσουν.  Όρμησαν  εναντίον  τους  οι   στρατιώτες, και  κτυπώντας τους  με  τις λόγχες, καταξέσχισαν τα  σώματά  τους.  Έτσι,  μαρτυρικά και ένδοξα παρέδωσαν  όλοι  την γενναία ψυχή τους στο  στεφανοδότη Χριστό.

Απολυτίκιον.  Ήχος  δ’. Ταχύ  προκατάλαβε.         
Παράμονον  μέλψωμεν,  συν Φιλουμένω πιστοί, ως  θείους  θεράποντος, και  Αθλητάς ευκλεείς,  Χριστού  του  Θεού  ημών·  τούτον γαρ φερωνύμως,  ως φιλήσαντες  άγαν,  ήσχυναν  δι’ αγώνων,  παρανόμων  το κράτος,  αιτούντες  πταισμάτων  λύσιν, πάσι   και  έλεος.

Ως στρατευθέντες Χριστώ δια πίστεως, τας των εχθρών διεκόψατε φάλαγγας, και νίκης το στέφος δεξάμενοι, συν Παραμόνω θεόφρον Φιλούμενε,  Αγγέλων  ισότιμοι  ώφθητε.

Νόμοις παραμένοντες ιεροίς, Παράμονε μάκαρ, και  Φιλούμενε  Αθλητά, φίλοι του  Σωτήρος, εδείχθητε εν άθλοις, αχλύν παρανομίας διασκεδάσαντες.
