Σύναξις Αρχαγγέλου Γαβριήλ

Το  όνομα  Γαβριήλ  σημαίνει  την  ισχύ  του  Θεού.  Ο  Άρχων   Γαβριήλ είναι  ένας εκ  των  τριών  Αγγέλων  που  αναφέρονται  στην  Αγία  Γραφή.  Απεστάλη  από τον  Θεό  στον  Ζαχαρία,  για  να   του    αναγγείλει   την γέννηση   του    Ιωάννου   του  Προδρόμου,   στην Παρθένο  Μαριάμ,   για    να   την   χαιρετίσει  και  να  φέρει   το   μήνυμα της   επικείμενης  γ έννησης   του   Λυτρωτού   και  στον   Προφήτη Δανιήλ, για   να   εξηγήσει  τα   οράματα   τα   οποία    είχε   δει    αυτός   και  να αποκαλύψει τον χρόνο της ελεύσεως του Μεσσία.
Η Εκκλησία τιμά την Σύναξη του Αρχαγγέλου Γαβριήλ, επειδή προανήγγειλε  τη  Σάρκωση  του  Υιού  και  Λόγου  του  Θεού.

Φερωνυμία καταλλήλω  εμπρέπων, καθυπουργείς εν τη του Λόγου σαρκώσει,   ως   στρατηγός   των   Ασωμάτων   τάξεων·   όθεν   ευηγγέλισαι,   τη   Παρθένω  Μαρίᾳ,   χαίρε  προσφωνών   αυτή,   τον   Θεόν  γαρ   συλλήψη·   όν   εκδυσώπει   σώζεσθαι  ημάς,  τους  σε  υμνούντας,  Γαβριήλ  Αρχάγγελε.

Ουρανίου τάξεως, φωτοειδής στρατηγέτης, Γαβριήλ Αρχάγγελε, γεγενημένος   εν   δόξη,   ήγγειλας, χαράν  την   άληκτον   τη   Παρθένω· ταύτη  γαρ,   την   του   ανάρχου  σύλληψιν   Λόγου,   εκβοών  ευηγγελίσω· χαίρε   Παρθένε  ευλογημένη  Αγνή.

Αρχιστράτηγε Θεού, λειτουργέ θείας δόξης, των ανθρώπων οδηγέ και  αρχηγέ  ασωμάτων, το συμφέρον   ημίν  π ρέσβευε,   και   το   μέγα    έλεος,    ως    των   ασωμάτων   Αρχιστράτηγος.

Όλος  ηλιόμορφος   και   φαιδρός,   Γαβριήλ  επέστης,  τη  Παρθένω  εν Ναζαρέτ·   παρ’ ής νυν την αίγλην, της  Τρισηλίου   δόξης,   δεχόμενος αΰλως,   ημάς   καταύγασον.

Synaxis Archangel Gabriel

The name Gabriel means the power of God. Lord Gabriel is one of the three angels mentioned in the Bible. He was sent by God to Zacharias to announce the birth of John the Baptist in Virgo Mariam to greet her and bring the message of the upcoming son of the Redeemer to the Prophet Daniel to explain the visions he had he sees and reveals the time of the Messiah's coming.
