After the Son and Word of
God had dressed the old Adam, he became a man, and having performed all the
requirements of the Judaic Law, he went to John to be baptized. Not because He
Himself needed it, but to wash away the human soul from the shame of Adam's sin
and to dress her nakedness with the first outfit that opposes the Divine
splendor.
John baptized the baptism
of repentance, and all Judea was running toward him. Does the Lord preach the
baptism of adoption, and who among those who have hoped for Him will not obey?
This baptism (John's) was the introduction, this baptism (of the Lord) is the

who was aged by sin and gave him the heavenly Kingdom. This unity of heaven and
earth was revealed at the baptism of Christ with the opening of the heavens.

the shadow of the law and introduces us to the new Grace.
The Apostle Paul speaks of
