Οι Αγίες Βασίλισσα και Καλλινίκη οι Μάρτυρες

Οι  Αγίες Βασίλισσα  και  Καλλινίκη  κατάγονταν  από  τη  Γαλατία.  Επειδή  η Αγία Μάρτυς Βασίλισσα ήταν πλούσια, έδινε χρήματα στην Αγία   Καλλινίκη   για   να   πηγαίνει   στις   φυλακές   και   να   τα   παρέχει   στους   εγκλείστους Χριστιανούς για τη  διατροφή   τους,   με  σκοπό  να  προσεύχονται   υπέρ  αυτής.  Επιθυμούσε  να  τους   κάνει πρόθυμους  για  το  μαρτύριο  και  να τους παρασταθεί,  ώστε   να   μην χάνουν το   θάρρος  στις   θλίψεις   τους.   Κάποια,   λοιπόν,   μέρα,    αφού  συνελήφθη  η   Καλλινίκη  και   ρωτήθηκε   τίνος   είναι   τα   χρήματα, επειδή   δεν   γνώριζε   να   λέει    ψέματα,  ομολόγησε.  Γι’ αυτό την  έδεσαν  και  την  παρέδωσαν  στον  άρχοντα.  Και  αφού  συνελήφθη  και  η    Αγία    Βασίλισσα,  παρουσιάσθηκε    ενώπιόν   του    στο    δικαστήριο. Και   οι    δυο   ομολόγησαν   με   παρρησία   τον   Χριστό   και υποβλήθηκαν   σε   διάφορα βασανιστήρια, εξαναγκαζόμενες να αρνηθούν   την   πίστη   τους   και   να   θυσιάσουν   στα   είδωλα.   Επειδή όμως   δεν   πείσθηκαν,   με   ξίφος   τους   απέκοψαν    τις     ιερές κεφαλές.  Νίκησαν  έτσι  τον  διάβολο  και απόλαυσαν  τη βασιλεία  των  ουρανών.

Το    μαρτύριο   των   Αγίων    Μαρτύρων  Βασιλίσσης  και   Καλλινίκης  έγινε  το έτος  252  μ.Χ.  επί  αυτοκράτορα Γάλλου (251 – 253   μ.Χ.) 

Απολυτίκιον.   Ήχος   γ’.   Θείας   πίστεως.

Κλέος  άφθαρτον,  εισεποιήσω,  ως  αθλήσασα,  ανδρειοφρόνως,  Καλλινίκη   Αθληφόρε   πανεύφημε·   τω γαρ  οικείω  σου  αίματι  πάνσεμνε,  το  του Νυμφίου  σου  πάθος  εδόξασας.   Μάρτυς    ένδοξε,  Χριστόν    τον    Θεόν   ικέτευε,   δωρήσασθαι    ημίν    το    μέγα    έλεος.           

Κοντάκιον.   Ήχος    δ’.   Επεφάνης   σήμερον.

Εν  αθλήσει   ήνεγκας, πλείστας  οδύνας,  Καλλινίκη  ένδοξε,  και  καταβέβληκας   εχθρόν·  όθεν  της  νίκης  τον  στέφανον,    παρά    Κυρίου, αξίως    απείληφας. 

Μεγαλυνάριον.

Πόθω  τετρωμένη  τω  του  Χριστού, Μάρτυς  Καλλινίκη,  ηγωνίσω  αθλητικώς·  όθεν  ουρανίων, θαλάμων  ηξιώθης,  υπέρ  ημών  Κυρίω,  αεί  πρεσβεύουσα.

The Holy Queen and Kalliniki the Witnesses

The Queen and Kalliniki came from Galatia. Because the Holy Martyr Queen was rich, she gave money to St. Kallinikis to go to prison and provide the incarcerated Christians for their diet in order to pray for her. He wanted to make them ready for the martyrdom and to show them so that they would not lose their courage in their sorrows. So, one day, after Kalliniki was arrested and asked what the money was, because he did not know to lie, he confessed. That's why they tied her up and gave her to the lord. And after the Holy Queen was arrested, he was brought before him in court. Both of them boldly confessed Christ and subjected to various tortures, forcing them to deny their faith and sacrifice to idols. But because they were not convinced, their swords cut off the sacred heads. So they defeated the devil and enjoyed the kingdom of the heavens.

The martyrdom of the Saints Martyrs Vassilissis and Kallinikis took place in the year 252 AD. on the emperor of the French (251 - 253 AD)
